This might seem like a strange question. We are all able to imagine something, creating, building, whatever it is that floats our ideals. I wonder if there is a limit to what we might craft, and what we might build? My STEM-head forms a drastic attachment to both sides and wants to know where the line is drawn.
I adore this idea; an idea that sees something happy, meld with the idea of construction. Be it a nice birthday card for your significant other, or a fully formed sculpture that sits on your happy shelf, I am certain we all have a little engineer swimming through our veins.

What is my point, then?
Our happy places are important and report a hard look at who we are and what we like. My whole emphasis is based on the notion of creating the shrine and a homage to 'YOU'; because of this, we are keen to expand on the space that pays this to us. I believe that the line is very blurred with what I offer. Happy-Shelves are both constructed and crafted. The items upon them are akin to craft, as the shelves and our dwellings offer up that air-to-build.
I believe that most happy-shelves are not planned, at least not fully, they are formed over time and can be re-jigged on occasion. If this is the case, then, I am now switching to crafting as a whole, and not as only part. Although there is engineering found in the shelving, it is a pre-thought, and from your perspective, it is ALL craft! Drawing those ideal pieces and showing them off is what is important, and of course, loving that you can show-them-off and talk about them is big on the agenda.
Be proud and stand tall, show-off that happy-place, to us all! Would you like to show your happy-place off on this blog? If you do, please email me at gavyn@thehappyshelfcompany.com, and I will add your photos to my blog entries.
Take care, and keep happy, keep that which you love, close.
